This article is an pure speculation. The CIA report already said with great confidence that it is not caused by foreign country. The fact that didn't excluded it 100% is just that negative things are very hard to prove. And the reasons for Havana syndrome still are not known, nothing can 100% eliminated. But it is not very likely and the described reason is very much how conspiracy theorists argue.
Scientists say that such weapons are physically impossible (Scott Locklin blog). Rehashing old arguments ad nauseum could be just slow news day and serious journalists shouldn't write with so much bias.

- NoPie 5y agoScott Locklin. The truth in this case is better approached by Bayesian statistics. I didn't see much evidence in favour of sonic or EMP weapons here. If experts familiar with the field see it unlikely and there is no strong evidence on the contrary then the likelihood of this external source explanation is low.
- raxxorrax 5y agoGet a cheap subwoofer and play a sound just below the frequency humans can hear on a medium or high amplitude. Your normal hifi speaker should be enough too. Put it at the wall of your neighbor for a few days. Most people will feel nausea, vertigo or unwell in general. Great for evicting unlikable neighbors.
