You Shouldn't Take Advice from Anyone
- raxxorrax 5y agoChoosing between Rilke and the standard therapist is pretty easy. This advice is probably very good.
- 50 5y ago> Choosing between Rilke and the standard therapist is pretty easy. No kidding! Rilke's Book of Hours: Love Poems to God[1] keeps me grounded. 1. https://bookshop.org/books/rilke-s-book-of-hours-love-poems-to-god/9781594481567 https://bookshop.org/books/rilke-s-book-of-hours-love-poems-...

- codeptualize 5y agoWhen it comes to advice I always need to think about this quote: "Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it. Advice is a form of nostalgia. Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth." It's from: https://www.chicagotribune.com/columns/chi-schmich-sunscreen-column-column.html https://www.chicagotribune.com/columns/chi-schmich-sunscreen... but I know it from the song "Sunscreen" by Baz Luhrmann, highly recommend.
