Elon Musk Sees Human Robot Becoming Bigger Than Tesla’s Car Business
- nonethewiser 5y agoReally? When was he most recently on Friedmans podcast. I thought it was like 3 weeks ago. Friedman asked a lot of questions about his plans for the humanoid robots used in his plants and he basically said they were an afterthought and he hasn't really imagined how they might develop.
- ashwagary 5y ago>he basically said they were an afterthought and he hasn't really imagined how they might develop. A man poorly dancing in a spandex "robot" suit made this clear to me on day 1.
- Stevvo 5y agoI thought it was a joke when shown at 'AI day'
- emteycz 5y agoWell that performance was a joke, but that doesn't mean it wasn't a teaser.
- WheelsAtLarge 5y agoNow that electric cars are becoming the norm he needs a new hook to keep Tesla relevant and above the rest of the car companies. Tesla's experience with robotics will be a huge advantage. The droid may never be viable but at the very least it's a great marketing hook that will keep people interested in Tesla the company for years to come. Which, in turn, will continue to keep advertising costs close to zero. I have to give it to him. The man is a marketing genius.
- rcMgD2BwE72F 5y agoThe norm? GM sold, in total, 26 EV in the US last quarter... Toyota still does not commercialize any EV.
