Hong Kong will cull thousands of hamsters after Covid cases in a pet shop
- h2odragon 5y agoSo, someone knew, very newar the beginning of all this fuss, that mice and rodents catch and pass COVID. Anyone think that wouldn't have been good for the rest of the world to know? Anyone think it did not take a lot off effort to keep the possibility out of all the "COVID response" plans utterly kneecapped by this fact?
- rsynnott 5y agoSomeone knew, and then... kept it secret by publishing it in Nature: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-020-2342-5 https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-020-2342-5 There was no particular secret here; that it can infect various animals has been known for a long time.
