- mrlonglong 5y agoWhere are the pictures? Seeing is believing.

- Pompidou 5y agoGoogle "Bob Hulse squid".
- echelon 5y agoThat is absolutely amazing! Incredible creatures. https://www.latimes.com/business/technology/la-fi-tn-squid-rocket-science-20120221-story.html https://www.latimes.com/business/technology/la-fi-tn-squid-r...
- mrlonglong 5y agoGood job, that's quite something to see, thanks.
- nosianu 5y agoSeeing is believing? Okay - did you know penguins can fly? https://youtu.be/9dfWzp7rYR4 https://youtu.be/9dfWzp7rYR4 It's from a reputable source too, the BBC.
- Tagbert 5y agoThat was an amusing prank.
- varelse 5y agoWhy is this trendy? I looked into this yesterday and I found this video because it's trendy but why is it trendy? https://youtu.be/4hCa0sEJl_4 https://youtu.be/4hCa0sEJl_4
- echelon 5y agoYouTube suggested this horrifying related video: https://youtu.be/57XY_Z-Xs7w https://youtu.be/57XY_Z-Xs7w I had no idea they got this close to the surface. I wonder if it was in a state of stress or if it was actively interested in potential prey. One of these years we're going to see a rarely encountered apex predator such as a giant squid or an orca attempt to predate or attack a human in the wild.
- hungryforcodes 5y agoOrca maybe -- giant squid no. It is CLEARLY stated in the comments that this is a juvenile squid in a dying state and it's just clutching the surfboard in desperation. Could make a good calamari though!
- echelon 5y ago> It is CLEARLY stated in the comments Are we seeing different comments? I scrolled three page lengths and just see jokes and reactions.
- Zanni 5y agoMaybe this comment? (first comment on same linked video): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=57XY_Z-Xs7w&lc=Ugy9M8IOPnnt9YAj5QN4AaABAg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=57XY_Z-Xs7w&lc=Ugy9M8IOPnnt9... Here's the longer video they're referring to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27OTynwArsw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27OTynwArsw
- echelon 5y agoSorry for going so far off topic, but I am absolutely seeing different comments. The first comment I see is, > This giant squid does not attack the surfer. It wants to cuddle him This is when I click your direct link.
- tomcam 5y agoNot often that HN links to an article using the term “squid aerodynamics”
- zabzonk 5y agoFactoid: Flying squid feature in several of the Aubrey/Maturin naval historical novels by Patrick O'Brian.
