We should start by working to keep the ocean clean, then worry about the temperature of the polluted water.
Why is there more interest in controlling the temperature vs the pollution itself?
consumerism needs to change for temperature to change
- Flashtoo 5y agoThese are different problems that both need to be addressed as soon as possible, but for different reasons. Having said that, runaway global warming seems like the more pressing existential threat to me.
- BeKindAndLearn 5y agoClimate change may very well be an extinction level event. Plastic in the ocean is not.
- missedthecue 5y agoReminder that according to the IPCC there is literally no scenario where the human race is worse off in 2100 than we are now, even if we do nothing about climate change and continue to use fossil fuels. - propogandist 5y agowe can't accurately predict tomorrows weather or even trajectories of hurricanes, but lets go with this idea that the modeled weather forecast that's a decade out is realistic What will you do to drive change?
