I sometimes wonder if we'll discover a Kardashev Type II civilization, harnessing the power of their sun via a Dyson sphere. And then, upon first-contact, realize they are using all that power to mine Bitcoin.
- randomhodler84 5y agoIndeed. What then, do we get them to move to SHA256 (or whatever hash Bitcoin uses for its PoW in 100 years time), or do we adopt the alien hashing algos?
- chii 5y agoIf PoW and the endless thirst for energy would spur the development of Dyson spheres, then it would've be a good outcome.
