Ask HN: What are some good review sites?
Searching for product reviews on Google is a dumpster fire.
I want to build a bit of a whitelist of trusted, non-SEO'd, review sites for everything. Be it tech, kitchen appliances, or baby monitors.
So what are everyones favorites?
- tacostakohashi 5y agoIf you want to pay, Consumer Reports. If you want free, you get an SEO-infested, SEO-riddled dumpster fire. Totally up to you.
- taubek 5y agoYou mean sites like this one https://www.oekotest.de/ https://www.oekotest.de/? Test results are not free.
- approxim8ion 5y agoI actually find reddit to be decent for reviews of customer products. So I add a "site: reddit.com" to my search string.
- pavelmark 5y agoPersonally I look at https://www.reddit.com/r/BuyItForLife/ https://www.reddit.com/r/BuyItForLife/, and then data backed sites like https://appliance.report/ https://appliance.report/ and i try to find small, geeky blogs from people who clearly love the subject matter
