The US jobs report was a warning sign – even before the Omicron surge
- anovikov 5y agoVery few people "have yet to return to the job market" - over 90% of people who are "missing" from the labor force compared to pre-covid time 2 years ago, are over 55. These aren't "people who are too afraid of the virus to come back to their workplaces" or "people who had enough" but rather, simply people who planned to retire in 5-10 years and did it now due to excellent stock market performance in 2020 and 2021. They are lost for the job market forever and not coming back.
