Hopefully these huge casts can be recycled and recast. If so, they don’t seem terribly wasteful. I’d also hope that minor repair of the cast part is possible for the smallest dents. I’m not an expert in this area.

- xeromal 5y agoEspecially aluminum which I believe is what Model 3 and Ys are made out of
- rootusrootus 5y agoNo, you're thinking of the Model S. The 3 and Y are predominantly steel.
- jagger27 5y agoI wonder if having less structural adhesive between metal components makes it more easily recyclable.
