I worked with a Linux desktop for years. Changed jobs and moved to Windows. The huge advantage is Microsoft office finally works for me. I don't have issue with documents and spreadsheets that people send. Outlook has a search that works much better than Thunderbird. With windows subsystem for Linux everything works well, with one exception docker desktop. That seems to be a steaming pile on Windows. Every few months the networking falls over and a reinstall of docker desktop is required.

- Flameancer 5y agoHonestly I love outlook search, but it definitely works better if the items you are searching for are in a exchange mailbox. Anything outside of exchange is usually hit or miss.
- commoner 5y agoThere's a Thunderbird add-on called "Expression Search - NG" that provides advanced search options: - Add-on: https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-us/thunderbird/addon/expression-search-ng/ https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-us/thunderbird/addon/expre... - Source: https://github.com/opto/expression-search-NG https://github.com/opto/expression-search-NG It's a nice substitute for Outlook's Advanced Find feature, but without the GUI. (Despite the description, it is working on Thunderbird 91.)
