The west had literally DECADES to build up a stronger silicon-industry, and all the money and brainpower to do so.
Problem is, if spending for education and public investments in "future" technology stagnates, well...

- raxxorrax 5y agoTo be fair, this was pretty dirty from the BBC. In a good way at least. And who is to say that silicon fries aren't tasty as well.

- coldtea 5y agoSupply shortages are probably more depressing and worrying trend than cpu industry. And they are not entirely because of "covid disruptions".
