How can you be anticompetitive when your software is free?
Antitrust laws were made to protect the consumer, the same consumer which was robbing Microsoft blind because they allowed piracy.
- AnimalMuppet 5y agoFor the third time: Microsoft's software wasn't free. I have no idea where you get the idea that it was.

- AnimalMuppet 5y agoIt was free to those who were willing to steal. That wasn't most of us. (I wouldn't call that "wise enough", by any stretch.) But I can see that your sense of ethics has no correlation with mine. Be that as it may, having piracy - even allowing piracy - is not a get-out-of-jail-free card for antitrust violations.

- MBCook 5y agoSo the fact that I can steal a Samsung TV from Best Buy means that Samsung TVs are free and therefore it’s impossible for them to be committing antitrust violations against Sony and Visio? I’m sorry I don’t think that follows.
