- olliej 5y agowhat? This isn't apple tracking you, this is a defense against other people hiding an AirTag on your person and them using it to track you.
- kadoban 5y agoI mean, it could also very well be Apple tracking you.
- olliej 5y agoThe "find my" network is set up so apple can't, unless you mean sneaky apple employees hunting you under the cover of dark? :D

- olliej 5y agoOh you mean tracking your phone vs tracking you via the find-my network. I’d just check to see what data the app says it collects. There’s a privacy site that details such things, but I can’t recall the url.
- nickphx 5y agoWho else other than the manufacturer would you expect to provide such an app? The app does not scan in the background and will only display "airtags" that are in "lost mode".
- crackercrews 5y agoOh wow, it only displays airtags in lost mode? That means it's not very useful for discovering if someone is tracking you. A stalker isn't going to put the airtag in lost mode.

- olliej 5y agonope, that would mean stealing an AirTag would give you relatively immediate access to the victim's contact info.
- olliej 5y agothat's not what happens - see my other comments, but basically the only difference is that in lost mode the AirTag provides contact info.
- olliej 5y agoNo, that's not what happens. If your device detects the same AirTag traveling with you, despite not being paired to your account you will be notified about it, no matter what state it is in. /if/ the device is in lost mode you're provided with contact details.
