I agree with almost all of this, except that I don't think US medical care is good. It's _advanced_, in the sense that it has an array of expensive techniques available to those who can pay it. But in the basic humanity and decency department having been to US doctors feels line going to a production line if you don't have any serious condition. There just felt this enormous personal disconnect. And most of the issues that I'll be going to doctors for are just not that rare.
