- sokoloff 5y agoAre you assuming that the “October measure” of 6.2% is a per-month figure (meaning 12 of them would be +106% compounded [1.062^12-1])? That’s not how it works. The 6.2% is an annualized figure. (If the one year outlook were for inflation to be >100% in the US, people would be flipping out; BTC would be $200K+; markets would sell off 40+%; Treasuries would be selling at a yield well over 75%)

Over the last 12 months, the all items index increased 6.2 percent before seasonal adjustment.
