I tried going to Church, to seek community, but i can't pretend i'm religious when i'm not
- poetically 5y agoI'm not religious either but by reading the works of the folks I suggested I have a better sense of what is in my control and what is not so that I can focus on things that I can address and not worry so much about things that are out of my control. Contemporary consumerist society is isolating for most people because even though they can buy whatever they want it doesn't change the fact that lack of communal structures makes them feel isolated. This is a systemic issue so there is no individual solution.
