- tantalor 5y agoEh not really. You still need a central authority to determine whether the rights claimed by the NFT are authentic or fraudulent. Might as well have a central database. Scenario: 2 users present an NFT claiming the rights to a song. Who wins?
- alteriority 5y agoIsn't the entire point of an NFT the fact that two users can't simultaneously possess it? I don't know if NFTs are the ideal approach but that seems like the one critique that doesn't apply.
- tantalor 5y agoFor the NFT itself? yes. For the thing the NFT claims? no; that is up to some authority to decide whether to honor it. e.g., 2 users have NFT which claims "I own the Mona Lisa". Who is right?
- bsagdiyev 5y agoNo it isn’t.
