Airbus A340 plane lands on Antarctica for first time
- snake_plissken 5y agoHow does one get a concession to operate like this in Antarctica? Or do you even need one considering its not a traditional sovereign area? Some brief reading on Wikipedia suggests that tourism operations down there are allowed and they effectively self regulate themselves.

- King-Aaron 5y agoThe most fascinating part of this to me is that there's now a "resort" in Antarctica!
- V__ 5y agoI can't wait for the new flat earth conspiracies this will bring about.
- ryanlol 5y agoThere are multiple. White Desert operates a “luxury” resort, Antarctic Logistics & Expeditions offers another. Both of these companies offer regular flights to Antarctica, not on A340s because there’s no point and there aren’t many clients crazy enough to insist on flying in with their VIP-configuration A340s.
