Pakistan’s biometric ID scheme is stripping citizenship from thousands of people
- raxxorrax 5y agoThat government would need a biometric ID is such a scam. I hate that Europe made it mandatory for everyone. Nothing is gained by this at all. It didn't improve anything either. Parts of Europe have indeed difficulties with human trafficking and similar crimes. Guess what, the situation didn't improve while states created a lot of liability. Sure, there are no central DBs and the biometric info is saved on the ID itself, hopefully decently encrypted. Not judging people that send their ID on the microwave tour. Democratic nations could have set an example here.
- 1cvmask 5y agoThe victims are all collateral damage to the War on Terror and the invasion of Afghanistan. The US forces countries like Pakistan to enforce such rules and regulations, otherwise they face sanctions, and eventually bombings (in fact Obama was constantly bombing Pakistan and children there).
