And some jail time for execs and managers.

Nothing deserving of jail time happened here. Maybe we should also start jailing people for parking wrong or driving slowly on the left lane?

Jesus, HN has really gone almost full reddit at this point. For a touch more context. "In a statement, Amazon spokeswoman Barbara Agrait said the settlement addresses how the company conducts mass employee notifications related to COVID-19. There is no required change to, or allegations of any problems with, the company’s protocols for notifying employees who have been in direct contact with a potentially infected person, she said." I seriously wonder if all govt agencies themselves are doing sufficient mass notifications. I wonder how UC systems pandemic controls are especially with sports etc. Full disclosure: Because the weekly testing I have to do through a lab runs $350/test and takes too long to come back I often use Amazon's COVID testing at $39. It is overnighted back to them, I generally get results back by noon the next day. Because I don't pay for the non-amazon test I do it as well.

Probably because all the (Sanders/AOC-supporting) Redditors have indeed migrated to HN.

If Hacker News is going to be more like Reddit, I wish it's more like this: https://www.reddit.com/r/savedyouaclick/ https://www.reddit.com/r/savedyouaclick/

$500k! Given a modest 10% interest on Bezos's net worth (~194B today), that's 15 minutes of interest money.

They're never going to financially recover from this edit: I am now realizing this is not $500k per worker.

  >They're never going to financially recover from this They already have. Oh, and it seems they've just recovered again. And once more. There it is again. Oh god the recovering won't stop!
