It doesn't destroy the west, but it certainly is moving everything backwards. Populism and some truth is a good mix for propaganda. In my country (GER) newspeak for anything relating to gender is already in place. Not used by the common peasant of course, but pretty much enforced by everyone wanting to belong to a larger media landscape.
