Eh… it’s pretty useful if you want to do deep learning. I would also consider a strong facility with concepts like of rates of change / derivatives and aggregation / integration to be a an important practical skill. Imo, they we should be teaching basic linear algebra before calculus. Multiplying vectors and matrices by hand gives a very good feel for how integrals work.
