  And why should we actually care? Why should we give up a right that is inherently valuable, only to receive further detriment to our life, liberty, and happiness? Logically, empirically, historically, “terrorism” is a term bandied by those who understand that fear is a weapon. One that can compel people to sacrifice a valuable, scarce, resource in order to spare themselves an infinitesimally small possibility of death in a manner that horrifies them.
