Clinical evidence that 1889 “Russian flu” pandemic was caused by a coronavirus
- vfulco2 5y agoI thought we weren't supposed to use the source location names for influenza even if true? You know, for obfuscation purposes.
- joelbondurant 5y agoEveryone knows the common cold endemic began in 2019.
- a0-prw 5y agoNothing new under the sun, except what we invent. Like the crazy idea that this virus warranted exceptional, catastrophic measures.
- nuerow 5y ago> Like the crazy idea that this virus warranted exceptional, catastrophic measures. Do you understand you're downplaying the severity of one of the deadliest pandemics in history? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1889%E2%80%931890_pandemic https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1889%E2%80%931890_pandemic Do you honestly believe that it's ok to not do anything at all and just let millions needlessly? As if that isn't a catastrophy?
- a0-prw 5y agoYes. Millions of other people, mostly young and poor, are dying of the reaction to the virus.
- a0-prw 5y agoBullshit. Storm in a teacup. One day you'll grow up.
- otabdeveloper4 5y agoMillions and millions of people died from the common cold before 2019 too. Every year. It boggles the mind that some people live to old age and never find out some basic facts of life. (I.e., that the "common cold" is actually a very nasty disease, especially for people with comorbidities. Before 2019 we downplayed the danger because we understood that there's nothing we could do anyways.)
- uf00lme 5y agoI hate with a passion the ugliness of the politicians talking about flu deaths like they are acceptable. Also annoyingly I haven’t seen one interview or press conference where someone in the press has called them out for not doing enough for people dying of the flu. Modern medicine is remarkable and if well funded and incentivised, can create marvels. Forget about funding sports or political parties etc, they are cursory. Fund science it is enteral and truly can be always a net greater good.
- Tagbert 5y ago“ The experts argue that a conservative death rate of 1% would therefore make COVID-19 at least 10 times as deadly as the flu, and therefore “significantly more lethal” than the common cold.” https://www.reuters.com/article/uk-factcheck-cold-idUSKCN26D0XT https://www.reuters.com/article/uk-factcheck-cold-idUSKCN26D...
- otabdeveloper4 5y agoDeaths from the common cold aren't classified as such; people who die due to the common cold have comorbidities and complications that are usually listed on the death certificate instead. P.S. "The flu" and the common cold are different diseases.
- nuerow 5y ago> Deaths from the common cold aren't classified as such; If you are unable to find evidence that supports your claims, aren't you basing your personal beliefs in unsubstantiated hypothesis which are rejected by the facts? If you are not able to come up with a rational basis for your beliefs and even outright reject facts that refute your personal assertion, what exactly suggests to you that your statements are remotely compatible with reality?
- mrkramer 5y agoIt took only 132 years to find this out. I hope that the cause of this current pandemic will be found out sooner.

- alophawen 5y agoI'm sure you're better able to find answer to such questions by digesting the countless reports on the subject.
