    Oh, all I ever see is people stating the rule "passive voice should always be avoided" and letting it at that.

      Sorry, that's a not-terribly-funny joke: "blabla considered harmful" is passive voice. Somebody in my life is extremely strict about passive voice, and it's fresh on my mind...

        It's cool. "Passive voice considered harmful" is a much more interesting phrasing. It's not as absolute as the normal joke, but what it lacks on certainty it makes up on intricacy!
