This is an important issue. If we talk about regulating tech, this is the most pressing one. I distance myself from all colleagues that help to implement such productivity surveillance. Do something sensible with your life, the money isn't worth it.
- thinkharderdev 5y agoWouldn't this law make productivity surveillance more pervasive? Based on the description in the article it seems to require that "Going forward, warehouse workers who think their quotas lead to unsafe behavior will be able to ask for 90 days' worth of documentation of how their work meets or fails the quota"?
- raxxorrax 5y agoThat can be the result of bad regulation, yes, but I think companies were too ambitious in implementing said tools that regulation became a necessity.
- pjc50 5y agoNo, that can only have been existing documentation. After all, it's Amazon's choice to have quotas, and if they're enforcing them, they must already have been documented, right?
