Gas crisis leaves Europe searching for solutions
- vanilla-almond 5y agoIn the UK, gas is the most common fuel for heating homes and for cooking. Whether this gas crisis will change people's attitude to electric heating and cooking I don't know, but for a long time electric has been viewed negatively for heating and cooking (cost of electricity being a major reason). In some ways, electric simplifies things: no complicated gas boiler to need to be serviced every year for safety. And modern induction hobs have some advantages over gas hobs (stovetops).
- raxxorrax 5y agoThe price difference between gas and electric power is quite pronounced still. Heating with fireplaces already became popular in a lot of places.
