- lioeters 5y agoIt may be the future, but there seem to be powerful interests working to prevent that future from becoming realized. (I could probably say that about many kinds of positive social transformations.)

- codegeek 5y ago"You work wherever you want." Yes and I like working in an office so does that count as "wherever" ?. The future is not Either Or. The future is "work from office if you like, work from home if you like".
- api 5y agoThere are lots of coworking spaces, at least where I live, so offices of every type are an option.
- JohnFen 5y agoBut the coworking spaces I've seen seem to be more of an open office sort of arrangement. I dislike working from home -- but I'll take that as the lesser evil vs working in an open office setting.
- RHSeeger 5y agoIt gets complicated when you consider that a lot of people that prefer to work from an office prefer it _because_ other people are in the office. They like the interactions and collaboration. If half the team (or more) decide they want to work from home, then that benefit is lost. In that case, it can't be a win-win scenario.
