Hackers leak passwords for 500k Fortinet VPN accounts
- raxxorrax 5y agoQuite serious when so many people are in home office. Is there a hint where it was release and can I check if fortigate devices on my domain got compromised?
- tg180 5y agoI have the archive, but it's seriously overrated. The number of domains having such a poor track record in security, which did not suffer from other breaches is really minimal (read none). There's no value in it and the ransomware gangs are publishing as a marketing move. https://tgragnato.it/@root/106901772867188953 https://tgragnato.it/@root/106901772867188953
- raxxorrax 5y agoThanks and good to hear. No idea about firewalls really, but we use them almost exclusively precisely because they are allegedly easy to upgrade and maintain compared to competitors.
- tg180 5y agoThey are easy to upgrade, but every FortiOS release drops older hardware models. Allegedly Fortinet wants to force shops to buy new hardware even if what they have is perfectly functional and without an excessive load. Security patches on unsupported hw? Nope...
