DeepFaceLive: Live Deep Fake
- ekianjo 5y agoOnline dating will become a lot more akward
- zibzab 5y agoNot dating myself, but from what I've heard this will only replace all those fake accounts with stolen pictures. What's even worse is that if you ever lost a phone or camera with semi-nude pictures then people are probably scamming other people using your images and fake accounts on OF.
- vezycash 5y agoThey already play stolen videos of people using a virtual webcam interface. Manycams is the tool of the trade. Edit: changed can to webcam
- zibzab 5y agoWhat is a virtual can interface?
- selcuka 5y agos/can/cam
- taneq 5y agoI'm sure it's used to display virtual cans as well. ;)
- have_faith 5y agoYour computer can use software output as a webcam source instead of a hardware device.
- ddtaylor 5y ago> If you have a free computer with 2080TI or better card with 12GB+ VRAM, you can give me remote access to it. I will train 1 model in a month. Yikes!
- sschueller 5y agoYou left out "How can I help the project? : I need the computing power to train models.". Seems reasonable that someone who has spare computing power available would offer that to expand the available models.
- ddtaylor 5y agoI don't feel comfortable giving someone remote access to my multi-thousand dollar hardware.
- lcrz 5y agoThen don't.
- amelius 5y agoThey said "if you have a free computer", meaning one that isn't used. Also, you can wipe the computer and re-install the OS afterwards. Finally, whenever you install any kind of software, you are giving someone remote access to your hardware in one form or another.
- Tenoke 5y agoYou can just set it up in vm with passthrough for that card by now I believe. All the cards he's looking for should work fine that way I believe.
- faeyanpiraat 5y agoThey will also use your IP to access whoknowswhat is the bigger issue. Edit: I’m talking about sharing one’s machine with others in general.
- eurasiantiger 5y agoRecruitment interviews are about to get interesting.
- have_faith 5y agoIn a sort of odd way it's an interesting playing field leveler, attractive people are often given more leeway in life. Who's going to complain to HR if I turn up to work and I don't actually look like the lead man from a black and white film.
- Mashimo 5y agoOh wow, that is impressive. I did not know we where here yet :0 Thanks for sharing.
- qwertox 5y agoWell, that settles it then. Without the help of some detection tools, we can no longer trust if what we see on screen is real.
- ChrisMarshallNY 5y agoIt would be a riot if the Margot Robbie examples were her Harley Quinn character.
- nerdponx 5y agoI can imagine this getting very popular in the online streaming community. Like V-Tube but taken to the next level.
- schleck8 5y agoI'm sure it will become especially popular amongst Hottub streamers and the like who already use realtime touch ups
- q_andrew 5y agoThis is gonna bring celebrity impersonation to a whole new level. Also it'll make me trust my eyes even less than before...
- srg0 5y agoLooking at the examples page. A possible application which is not about completely faking identity, Deep Live Makeup / Deep Live Haircut / Deep Live Dress might be something people will pay money for.
- Abishek_Muthian 5y agoThere are even more ethical use cases, Say a disabled person(I am) on a creator platforms who wish to defeat the algorithms which suppress videos from the disabled or similarly those who wish to defeat racial bias. In a fair world we wouldn't needing such hacks for equality, But we all know the reality. Or say those with accessibility issues who cannot put the physical effort in creating videos. I've been tracking 'Deep Fake video generating SW for ethical usage'[1] on my problem validation platform. - puglr 5y ago> the algorithms which suppress videos from the disabled I would be interested in reading more about this.

- ranguna 5y agoFor a second I was thinking YouTube was doing this. Just move out off tiktok. YouTube's algorithm will probably treat you the same way every now and again for the general public, but maybe that's because the general public doesn't want to watch that type of content? Your close subscribers and people with interest will still get your videos. And if you're self conscious about your physical appearance, your can always become a VTuber or something like that.
- exhilaration 5y agoCheck out the author's Arnold Schwarzenegger video call example: https://www.tiktok.com/@arnoldschwarzneggar/video/6995538782204300545 https://www.tiktok.com/@arnoldschwarzneggar/video/6995538782...
- gcanyon 5y agoWe are headed toward a verification crisis: we will not be able to know whether what we see is real or not. Does anyone know how we know anything in a future where everything can be simulated real-time?
