This is a bit of hit for US cultural dominance and influence.
How so? Almost everything I watch on tiktok is made by American content creators..Is TikTok proper even available to Chinese residents?
- disgruntledphd2 5y agoNope, there's a different app for China, called Douyin I believe.
- tarkin2 5y agoAnd is ultimately controlled by the Chinese government

- justicezyx 5y agoAnd we all know that that's not what happens now on any major non Chinese media platforms. The reality is that most of these platforms demonize China good contents and their creators, applying double standards https://news.cgtn.com/news/2021-01-22/YouTubers-under-fire-for-pro-China-content-talk-back--XgtXt9xHmo/index.html https://news.cgtn.com/news/2021-01-22/YouTubers-under-fire-f...
- ascii232425 5y agoCGTN is Chinese State Owned btw.
- justicezyx 5y agoSo they are the best candidate to point out the Western media's double standards, right? There is no better assuser of the villain than the victims...
- webmobdev 5y agoIt's all about controlling the distribution of the media. The media content doesn't matter if it doesn't reach the audience at all.
