Clinical efficacy of nitric oxide nasal spray for treatment of mild Covid-19
- curmudgeon22 5y agoGiving the upswing in cases (including breakthrough) something like this could be very useful in terms of reducing transmission. > Patients in the NONS treatment arm demonstrated viral loads, as determined from PCR testing of nose and throat swab sampling, that were lower at days 2 and 4 by a factor of 16.2 than those on placebo, and symptom resolution was also found to be faster on NONS treatment than on placebo in this study. > Accelerated SARS-CoV-2 clearance with NONS may reduce symptom duration, decrease infectivity period, reduce hospital admissions, and lower disease severity
- nradov 5y agoSunlight exposure and exercise also stimulate nitric oxide production. This could be one of the reasons why sedentary people are 4× more likely to die of COVID-19 than active people. https://bjsm.bmj.com/content/early/2021/07/21/bjsports-2021-104203 https://bjsm.bmj.com/content/early/2021/07/21/bjsports-2021-...
- chaimanmeow 5y agogood find. sedentary is also correlated with high BMI. obesity is dramatically linked to hospitalizattion and the severity of the infection. not bad for the results https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8117664/bin/gr1_lrg.jpg https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8117664/bin/gr1... one correction, the authors incorrectly state that there is no evidence based treatment for the mild SARS. This is incorrect (eg D booster, zinc, c, berberine, bromelasin, ivermectin, hcq+zn, etc etc)
