Doctors should be allowed to give priority to vaccinated patients
- throwawayboise 5y agoDoctors triage patients all the time. The critera are (broadly) how grave is the patient's condition and how likely is it we can help. Beyond that, I'm not sure that any individual decisions or motivations of the patient are of any relevance. Do we want a world where people who don't seek early treatment for any variety of conditions (addiction, mental health, obesity, even cancer, etc) or engage in risky behavior (e.g. many sports) go to the back of the line when they become seriously ill or injured?

- _red 5y agoDoctors should be able to put fat people on much lower priority.

- pbaka 5y agoI have an idea for a new research paper : On the intersectionality of pre-existing conditions, previous prophylactic treatments in the priorisation of treatment, or how to redefine the Hyppocratic oath through Hegelian dialectics.

- raxxorrax 5y agoThat public health insurance doesn't seem to work in the US is seen in arguments like this, although the article is for generating clicks of course.
- Proven 5y agoBullshit opinion. 1) Patients should be allowed to specify what treatment they prefer, but they can't. 2) If government forces people to buy state healthcare, it has to provide equal service to all. If you want to discriminate against patients, stop forcing them to spend their healthcare money on government-affiliated healthcare system. What doctors in private hospitals that don't participate in those schemas decide is no one's business and I wouldn't give a crap if they boycotted me - I'd just take my money and go across the street.
