Vote with your wallet! Don't buy iToddler Devices, instead go for custom rom'ed Android devices. Don't pay for Shitflix and co just buy a VPN and torrent stuff. I can't get my mom to do this but almost everyone on this website has the technical capability to do it. If they don't want your buisness don't give it too them.

- dtx1 5y agobrowsers are apps. everything is a chain.
- cblconfederate 5y agoyou can find your web app in any other phone/tablet/laptop/desktop/tv though, it s not tied to a brand or to your credit card, and crucially competition is not regulated by 2 gatekeepers.
- dtx1 5y agoI'd rather trust FOSS Apps on Android then the random unpatched spyware infested browser on a smart TV. And given how firefox is dying a slow death at the hands of overpaid Mozilla CEOs there already practically is much less competition in the Browser space than the mobile space.

- raxxorrax 5y agoI think a clean rom is worth much already. Sadly Android One isn't too popular. My name is Mr. Plant. Egg Plant. I am quite slim though, but I will always use burner accounts for Google services. That said, I also don't use GPS/Bluetooth. My carrier probably doesn't talk to Google. Sure, there is still data that gets leaked if you aren't careful, but you can contain much of it.
