I keep thinking, It's like they are trying to be the most ironic company in history... But then I have to remind myself, the old Apple is long gone, the new Apple is a completely different beast, with a very different concept of what it is marketing.

It's the RDF. People still think of Apple as the Old Apple. The rebellious company that stood for creative freedom. The maker of tools that work for the user, not against the user.
