- harry8 5y agoDesire for retribution and revenge are powerful emotions. Not much good comes of them. Especially so in influencing and even designing how a system of incarceration should function.

- coldtea 5y agoCharging for those is a degree of degradation too much for a civilized society to accept.
- pstuart 5y ago> Charging for those is a degree of degradation too much for a civilized society to accept America has a Monetized Legal System, not a Justice System. We're conditioned to think of the incarcerated as not-human, and I don't have hope that will ever change (for the better).
- whoaisme 5y agoThe bleeding hearts in the USA cry more about perpetrators of sick crimes than about victims. I'm so sick of it. I'm sick of people talking about how bail is racist and we should just let criminals commit more crimes until they are convicted by slow moving justice system. A justice system built on punishment is not ideal but a justice system built on rehabilitation is a joke.
