This is good. The EU and the UK already mandates CCS for electric cars. I believe some day one will be able to circumnavigate the world using only CCS and rapid charging.
- theluketaylor 5y agoThe CCS protocol is consistent, but the Europe and North American plugs are not the same. The North American connector is Type 1 and only works with single phase AC. Europe uses Type 2 which works with both single and 3-phase power. Since the communication protocol is the same adaptors are fairly simple (especially for AC charging), but DC charging would likely have cooling and amperage limitations from adding another electrical connection to the path.
