The effect of open-plan offices on our mental health – World Economic Forum
- raxxorrax 5y agoWhoever uses open plan offices for development or any higher mental task is throwing money away. Don't kid yourself, this is about insecure managers wanting more control and they feel better when they have everyone in view. This should be obvious without any study for anyone that had to concentrate on a task. It might work with a team that has deeper bonds than professional relationships, but the noise problem is still there and it doesn't scale at all. Activision has some problems right now and what had me surprised was that they actually work in cubicles. I would have thought they would be able to invest more in their employees. I still think that you cannot work efficiently in an open office plan.
