The fan _was_ their notification. Why would they have wasted time adding another?

  Because the fan will continue for some time after the compile finishes. So you can do work before the fan stoos

    Depending on the cooling solution the temperature can drop like a brick. On my desktop I can go 75deg to dead silent in about three seconds.

    You wouldn't be able to hear that when the fan on my MBP is blowing at its peak :-)
