It’s Finally Clear Why Amazon Bought Whole Foods
- benjaminjosephw 5y ago> A lot of people think Amazon saw buying and operating Whole Foods as a way to learn about the world of groceries and then to use that knowledge to launch a larger, more mainstream grocery chain. Now the company may be taking its first steps toward doing just that... Learn the domain then leverage that knowledge. Sounds like this is about to be a canonical case study in business schools a decade from now.
- joezydeco 5y agoI went and checked out a Fresh store when it opened near me and it pretty much confirmed what the article says. Half of the people inside were regular customers, and the remainder were Amazon employees walking the aisles and filling delivery orders. The store is really a small AMZN warehouse that you can also visit.
