Is there a way to avoid ever getting windows 11, or will it be a forced sneaky upgrade like last time?
- anothernewdude 5y agoHow was the last one forced? My game machine is still on 7
- xeromal 5y agoIt definitely was a thing. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/forced-upgrade-to-windows-10/01228663-9d86-43be-b591-411d3d4d42b7 https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/forced...
- MrStonedOne 5y agoif you had recommended updates enabled it would give you a pop up to schedule a upgrade to windows 10 with a recommended date and time preselected, and if you hit X in the popup to dismiss it, it would just use that recommended date and time.
- jmkni 5y agoTurn TPM off and you'll avoid any sneaky upgrades!
- MrStonedOne 5y agouse piracy tools to crack your windows 10. worked on windows 7 to windows 10 for me.
- mattowen_uk 5y agoMS are currently saying that Windows 11 will be an optional upgrade until support on Windows 10 runs out.
- IshKebab 5y agoWhich is October 2025 apparently. Hopefully they'll be forced to extend it like they did with older Windows. I built my current PC in 2012 and it still works perfectly well - no slowdown at all thanks to SSDs and the end of Moore's law. I can't imagine I'll want to upgrade it within the next 4 years.
