I honestly would, just because of how we seem to be perceived by the labor market (considering I make less than a Google new grad as a SDE2) but otherwise I don't really have any complaints. Sadly, I think I've reached my peak intellectual potential, and even that was through an easy way (doing an internship and getting a conversion offer). I'd never be able to pass Google HC, and haven't before because I simply don't have the IQ required to do so.
- disgruntledphd2 5y agoDude, Google have 100,000 employees. They can't all be Mensa level IQ.
- Google234 5y agoActually, they could :p. What’s 2% of 9 billion?
- disgruntledphd2 5y agoBut they definitely aren't. And realistically, Google hire most of their people in the US, so it would be 300mn rather than 7.9bn. Like come on, I have met enough Googlers over the years to recognise that they are not all geniuses. They're all very competent at what they do, but that's not the same thing at all.
- rejectedandsad 5y agoIt feels like my point is being proved to me....
- disgruntledphd2 5y agoTBH, IQ is not massively useful as long as you are above the median (so 100+). The difference between 100-120 and 120+ in life outcomes tend not to be significant. Regardless, it's never a good idea to assume you can't do something until you've exhaustively proved it.
