What other viral diseases are easily treatable by medication as opposed to vaccination? Are there any?

  I’m sure most people would prefer vaccines, but herpes is a commonly medicated virus lacking in vaccination availability.

    it took a long time for HAART to be developed though, and a lot of people died during the AZT-only era. if I had the option of choosing an effective HIV vaccine (god if only!) and HAART, I'd definitely choose the vaccine. HAART is apparently really rough on people.. it ages you.

  Hepatitis C can be cured in most patients with a course of sofosbuvir (Sovaldi).
