- remram 5y agoSays who? For a while it was easy_install, and it's not like pip was always around. It wasn't even distributed with Python until recently.
- Jiejeing 5y agoRecently? pip has been distributed with python for years (2.7.9 / 3.4)
- anaganisk 5y agoI never got pip installed with python on ubuntu
- hprotagonist 5y agothat’s because ubuntu and debian are (seemingly willfully) wrong and broken in how python is packaged on their distro package managers. If you install python from python.org, you get pip. https://gist.github.com/tiran/2dec9e03c6f901814f6d1e8dad09528e https://gist.github.com/tiran/2dec9e03c6f901814f6d1e8dad0952...
- remram 5y agoI was using Python before then, I experienced the change. Which is why I have no problem imagining another change to another tool like Pipenv or Poetry if they get enough traction.
