- nine_k 5y agoGet a dashcam. I wonder how soon a car would be able to publish its metrics, like speed, motor rpm, data from ABS and brakes, etc via a protected Bluetooth channel, so that a dashcam or a phone could keep recording it, like the black box.
- emilburzo 5y agoNow? You can already get those metrics from the car's OBD2 port. There are even dongles which have Bluetooth so you can see/record the metrics on your phone, so it shouldn't take much to get them on a dashcam.
- jiofih 5y agoDashcams pointing outwards are not legal in the EU due to privacy laws.
- valepape 5y agoJust don't IoT it, please.

- FooHentai 5y agoAlready a thing and quite widespread deployment. Mandated in the US, Japan, and Korea for many years now: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Event_data_recorder https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Event_data_recorder
- marcosdumay 5y agoWell, ok. First you make it a crime for any authority to look at it for any reason that is not blameless safety investigations.
