Wind turbine that fits in a backpack
- raxxorrax 5y agoLove this project. Discussed the feasibility of having a wind turbine installed in my home. The problems with noise aside, most said I would need to get it above 10m over the next highest object, probably the roof. Reason is that a larger turbine cannot deal with the turbulences near ground and it is too sluggish to react to quickly changing wind. Of course installing it that far up comes with statical problems. But a turbine this size doesn't have that problem, you just put it in the right direction for a small amount of power. A simple, yet useful tool. Would be interesting what current and voltage it supplies. Maybe it includes a 120V/230V AC converter ?

Bare turbine with longass charging wire does not need particular rig, you could mount it to a tree for example: https://youtu.be/XYorx9C-OEE?t=26 https://youtu.be/XYorx9C-OEE?t=26
