- MR4D 5y agoTLDR: "Jobs's recognition that the company should only have one P&L might be just as important to Apple's becoming the $2 trillion company it is today." I agree with this. Although the idea that there was only about 90 days of cash left probably ranked a tiny bit higher, and only temporarily. I would have liked to see the article explore the title thesis in more detail, but this is Inc., so short articles are the norm.

- vntok 5y agoThe article asks a question and answers it in a very clear and clean way in its first 11 sentences. Not sure what you are complaining about here or why you would invoke "mods" in any way.
- cardiffspaceman 5y agoOne man's clickbait apparently is another man's succinct and accurate summary.
- bellyfullofbac 5y agoHow is the title a succint summary? Clickbait: "This is the fruit you have to eat to live to 200", and you have to hunt for the answer in the article filled with retelling of stuff you already know... Not clickbait: "Eat mangos to live to to 200."
- caycep 5y agoI hope this is still true - there are moves, at least in the services division and associated products, that seem like short term money grabs, vs. part of a long term "customer experience-first" vision....

- caycep 5y agoThere must have been some kind of calculation. Akin to some sort of overall spec. This vaguely reminds me of some prior HN article about a Spanish submarine that ended up being a laughingstock because the engineer in charge accidentally added a decimal place or two re overall goal weight/gross tonnage...
