Facebook Said It Would Stop Recommending Anti-Vaccine Groups. It Didn’t
- hntroll1332 5y agoUnlike some little Hitlers, I don't feel any need to suppress information. I see no cause to be upset about Facebook failing to squash some viewpoints that some leftist found objectionable. If you have a point, make it with words rather than trying to use force to treat people like mushrooms.
- nolvorite 5y agoAgreed. Although I think the reason most sites censor content like this isn't necessarily because of partisanship, but rather because they think it's harmful to society in general. Not that I agree, I just want to point it out
- hntroll1332 5y agoOK, I think I agree with you... they don't do what they do primarily because of allegiance to a faction. They have good intentions. But I guess over time I've come around to the idea that thinking oneself so superior to others that one is justified in controlling what people can hear or say is actually a political position that people commonly take. "I'm so much smarter / better informed / moral / whatever than others that it's correct when I put my hands over somebody's eyes or ears or mouth." This is considered normal now. People don't feel ashamed about it.
- nolvorite 5y agoYeah, that's usually associated with woke leftists these days. On the right, it isn't as common because being on the right isn't really a popular position to be in in this current political climate.
