Ask HN: What are this year's buzzwords?
I don't particularly like the use of buzzwords, but they give a sense of what's living in the corporate world.
Which buzzwords should be dropped in a meeting for the other parties to nod profusely?
- oliverjudge 5y agoI know it's not new but my corporate/banking clients can't stop themselves saying "Cloud Native". On the other side of things I think we'll see a lot of mixed reality/metaverse type terminology come to the forefront this year.
- Graffur 5y agoAutomation RPA
- Jugurtha 5y agoMLOps. Rightfully so. If you're involved in the field, this is long overdue. There's a lot of noise but things will settle in a few years when people quit.
- max_hammer 5y agoWhy ops instead of Data science ?
- bad_username 5y agoData science is the algorithm part. ML ops is the infrastructure and process/workflow part, that enables efficient application of data science.

- cl42 5y agoClubhouse! I remember how aggressive my network was with regards to getting invitations, how Elon Musk was on it, etc. I'm curious if this'll be something we remember as the start of a new social network or a short-lived fad mid-way through the pandemic.
- kungito 5y agoIt's funny how 2nd post under this one is how clubhouse is valuated at 4 bil, and this post is the first time I've heard about it
- enjoyyourlife 5y agoIt's invite only and only on iOS

- lazlee 5y agoInfodemic.
- srndsnd 5y agoDispersion. While remote work is more commonplace in tech, lots of firms are confronting a workforce that had a strong year fully remote, and will dig in their heels at the thought of needing to commute to an office.
- tolbish 5y agoSmart contracts, NFTs, DevSecOps, Bare metal, Ethereum (as in it will become as household as Bitcoin over time), Apple M2, Hybrid/Multi cloud, DaaS (Data as a Service)
- Yaa101 5y agoCovid... In negative sense, but also in investing sense. We will see a multitude of R&D and investments in all sorts of forms around this buzzword. From tests, filtering, mRNA to all sorts of medical innovations.
- napier 5y agoVariant. Red zone. Booster. RPE. Onshoring. Onchain.
